Entry Fee:
Grade, Middle and High School: $3 per poem or $10/four poems.
Adults: $4 per poem or $13/four poems.

Susanna J. Mishler’s poems have appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, The Iowa Review,
Kenyon Review Online, Mid-American Review, and elsewhere. She received an MFA in Poetry from The University of Arizona in Tucson where she also served as a poetry editor of Sonora Review. She is the author of Termination Dust, a collection of poems forthcoming from Boreal Books/Red Hen Press in 2014. She lives in Anchorage and earns her living as an electrician. She is a lifelong Alaskan who has worked as a sled dog handler, a dock hand, and manager of a science museum, among other occupations.
The Fairbanks Arts Association Literary Arts Committee holds an Annual Statewide Poetry Contest. The purpose of the contest is to encourage, publicize, and reward the writing of high quality poetry. Winners of the contest will be announced in mid-February and then are invited to read at the March Literary Reading in the Fairbanks Arts Associations Bear
Open to Alaska residents only.
No more than four poems per poet may be submitted.
All poems must be original and not previously published.
Each must be typed or formatted to an 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper and may not exceed 100 lines in length.
A separate cover page should include name, address, phone and division, as well as the titles of all poems submitted. AUTHOR’S NAME SHOULD NOT APPEAR ON ANY POEMS.
