Visual Arts

Located in central Fairbanks in the Alaska Centennial Center for the Arts, Fairbanks Arts’ Bear Gallery is home to monthly art exhibitions and a gift shop that supports over 100 artists from Interior Alaska. Through representation and ongoing programs and events, the Bear Gallery has been an important platform for sharing artwork and a gathering space for artists and arts participants for over fifty years. Admission to the Bear Gallery and gift shop is free and open to the public, thanks to a partnership with Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks and Recreation.

Monthly exhibitions highlight the creativity, artisanship, and perspectives of Alaskan artists in a diversity of artistic media. Individual, group, curated, juried, and open exhibitions offer gallery visitors an opportunity to engage with art being created in Alaska today. In addition to a schedule of individual and curated Alaskan shows, annual exhibitions include two juried shows open to Interior Alaskan artists, a student art show in collaboration with Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, and a traveling photography exhibition from Alaska Photographic Center.
